Diva Maddalena embarked on her first volunteer project organized by the “Istituti Filippin” high school, in August 2011, to a street children school in Beira (Mozambique).
The following summer, Diva left for another volunteer mission at the Lasalle “Besrate Gabriel” school in Dire Dawa, Ethiopia. There she closely aligned herself with the orphanage girls “Abune Endrias”, adjacent to the school structure.
After a few months, Diva returned to the orphanage of Dire Dawa with the intention of commencing a project to build a kitchen. With the help of the family, Diva returned in June 2013 and inaugurated the new kitchen of the orphanage.
In summer 2014, along with two friends, Diva once again returned to Dire Dawa to teach the girls to cook using low-cost locally available raw materials and resources.
By sharing the same love for Africa, in June 2015, Diva travelled together with Maria Vittoria and Francesca in the peripheral area of Addis Abada, where together with Brother Kassu found the ground where to lay the foundations for the construction of a school.
